The Matfer Bourgeat Exoglass Thermometer Spatula has a two-piece construction made of a spatula and thermometer, that makes it a handy tool for all your baking and cooking needs and eliminates the need to juggle a thermometer and spoon at the same time. This dual use spatula/thermometer is designed to allow you to control and eye the temperature while melting chocolate, stirring sauces, or cooking many any other ingredients. This spatula contains the high quality durability you look for in a spatula, combined with the accurate, high temp readings you look for in a thermometer, making it the perfect addition to your kitchen, home and professional alike. Manufactured in France, this spatula is comprised of Exoglass, a proprietary composite material developed by Matfer. This material is non-porous, easy to clean and can be sterilized, and its long-lasting material will not deteriorate or rust over time. The handle can resist up to 428° F, while the removable thermometer can read -4° to 392° F and is tight against water splashing. The thermometer end extends down to the spatula paddle, ensuring the probe is submerged at least 1/4 to accurately read temperatures displayed on the digital screen at the end of the handle. Temperatures can be displayed as either Fahrenheit or Celsius by pressing and holding the min/max button. Pressing the max button on the thermometer will display the max temperature since the probe was turned on, whereas pressing the min button will display the min temperature since the probe was turned on. To return to current temperature simply press the button again. The thermometer is easily removable to be used as a traditional probe thermometer, and for easy cleaning, as this spatula is dishwasher safe, only when the thermometer is removed.
