Description: A nice large antique wooden butter mold. This plunger type mold has an engraving of two acorns on a branch with a leaf next to it. The wooden case of the mold is decorated with two incised circles near the top of the case and the case has a raised platform where the plunger goes in. The piece has acquired a nice dark patina over time but does not appear to have gotten much use. The plunger has a knob like top and screws into the print itself. Please view photos carefully as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain but at least from the mid 1900s, probably older. Origin: Purchased in an estate auction in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Size: Measures ~4" in diameter at the bottom and is about ~5 3/4" in height, when fully extended. The print is ~2 7/8" in diameter. Maker: Unknown. Marks: Unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is an interesting older butter mold with a nice and unusual design. Condition: The piece is in good condition. It has no breaks or repairs. It does have a crack on top, which can be seen in the photos. Also
